This vacant retail unit in a new development near the Barbican is to become a new Hair Salon. The large and unusually shaped plan of the space with its glazed street frontage was ideal for the Salon area. The design responded to the open plan space to creating a clean, contemporary feel, with staff and ancillary rooms concealed to the rear of the unit.
Our client on this project had particular personal requirements for the specification of the furniture and finishes. Our instruction was to incorporate all of the client’s chosen ideas into the available space ensuring that function, current design regulations and of course aesthetics all worked in unison.
The Salon has been designed so that all areas are inclusive and accessible to able-bodied and disabled people alike. The project required Planning Permission and Building Regulations Approval as well as advice on specifications and space planning.
In addition to close liaison with the client, the project also involved detailed consultation with the Landlord, Property Consultants, Mechanical and Electrical specialists and the Local Authority.
