McCaren enthusiastically embraced the eco brief and adopted a can do attitude to the conversion of 9 Haystone Place. This was a considerable achievement given the competing demands of all the stakeholders: two clients (the property owners, and Sarsen, the eventual leaseholder); Plymouth City Councils Conservation officer, and their Empty Homes Team. The project was an exemplar of partnership working between public and private, and the team at McCaren were a pleasure to work with.
